Company History
KOVA Precision Industrial Co., Ltd ( former name KOVA Carbide Tools Co., Ltd. ) was founded in 1987, mainly produce metal cutting tools initially.
Given the increasingly stringent demand in precision and tool geometry, KOVA introduced the first CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder from Germany in 1989, and successively purchased CNC tool grinders with 5 above axis from Germany and Switzerland to produce standard solid carbide tools, special cutting tools, indexable inserts as well as PCD diamond tools.
In response to the market demand for indexable tool holder, and to verify own produced cutting tool performance, KOVA introduced CNC 5 axis machining center from Germany in 1998, and started to produce different type of indexable tool holder. Meanwhile the own produced tools also been tested at this advanced machining center, based on the test results, tool performance are verified and improved accordingly.
While performing the cutting tool test, Kova investigated the cutting condition and improved processing method for various materials to help customers in solving different kind of processing task, so that the market demands for subcontractor was growing quickly. Therefore KOVA introduced successively different kind of advanced machining center to engage in the parts machining business. The parts machining business covered Machine Tools, Aero Space, Medical Industry, Automotive, Semi-conductors and 3C industry etc.
In consideration to provide customer a total solution for complete processing line, KOVA started vertical integration from cutting tools to machine tools in year 2003, and developed a 2 meters large 5 axes gantry type machining center with linear drive together with ITRI. The prototype machine was exhibited at TIMTOS exhibition in year 2009, and gained award of Eminence. After two years onsite operation verification, KOVA established machine tool division officially in 2011, and started serial production of this type of machine and other special type of machine to meet market requirement.
